Style.com asked a number of successful desginers about their most memorable summer jobs. Martin Grant gave our favorite answer:
"I never had a summer job. I left school at 15 and started my business straight away. One of my first jobs was dressing two ladies of the night, and I can tell you that as a teenager it was quite an eye opener. They used to turn up for fittings in a Studebaker convertible with bottles of Champagne, and I would make them Lurex leopard skin-print dresses! Oh, the good old days."
what a life! if only we all had that courage and dicipline at age 15
