Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is more than half-way through and District L is exhausted. Running back and forth from Bryant Park to off-site locations becomes quite taxing on one's four-inch stilettos. That being said, the hot and hellish taxi ride down to the Altman Building on Sunday afternoon was reciprocated in 20-fold.
We must admit, while we heard the buzz about Toni Maticevski, we were unfamiliar with his work. So when the lights dimmed and moody sounds filled the space, we were unprepared for the emotional experience that Toni Maticevski would induce.
In flowing, ethereal fabrics in antiqued white, pearl, grey and dip-dyed tones, Toni Maticevski took the breath away of every fashionista under that roof. After Toni was absolutely sure we were captivated, the sounds changed and the mood morphed from melancholic to heart-wrenchingly romantic. Not being known for generous amounts of sensitivity, I found myself walking down 18th street with tears in my eyes.
You heard it here: Toni Maticevski, hands down, has been the best runway show of the season.
This is absolutely fab! Where does he sell it?
