iHate: Trends that Suck

GooGoo for Gaga. Arriving Rihanna. Ok, we get it. You want to take a ride on his disco stick. We'd be lying if we denied that the song was embarrassingly catchy, but your impractically stupid nightshades are not. Paired with the "ugly-on-purpose" Rihanna hair gives you a look that screams, "I get my style advice from US Weekly."

Unfortunate staples at the worst-attended New York FW2010 shows (you know who you are) included studded glasses, the Rihanna tuft, tranny footwear, and shoulder epaulets. 65% of the losers loitering in the tents donned these items... back in February! Please, Karl. Please make it go away.

Once upon a time, Balmain was the distinct authority on 80s sex-glam and stud application. The models who traipsed around the pool of the Paris Ritz in March 2009 were the last to wear this trend at its peak. As we've previously discussed, the days where one could identify a backstage fashion week photo by season are (temporarily) over.
